More children are living without fathers in a lot of cities in the United Kingdom and mostly impacted within are Black ethnic minorities. The system is biased towards father’s right in claiming shared custody and due to lack of physical, mental and financial support, fathers are at a high-level disadvantage as parental right is limited to fathers and sole custody decisions automatically favour the child’s mother. As a result, black ethnic minority father has limited or no access to their children. At the time of the 2011 census, 18.9% of Black households were made up of single parent with dependent children, the highest percentage out of all ethnic groups for this type of household.
• We aim to help vulnerable black ethnic minority fathers who have been deprived from having a meaningful relationship with their children. We aim to protect children and black ethnic minority fathers from cruel and damaging treagtment which can result in separation in court.
• We aim to end child support discrimination against black ethnic minority fathers based on their gender as child support should be both emotional and financial support.
• We aim to end every bias and disparagement towards fathers within the black ethnic minority
